Overview: The holy grail of organisational excellence is often considered to be the twin human capacities of creativity and intuition. Organisations clearly need fresh creative ideas constantly to stay competitive, to create new markets, to gain and retain new clients, and to be respected in the capital markets. But at a time of massive global economic uncertainty, and a "bunker mentality" present in many organisations, the very creativity and intuition needed to bring new solutions and fresh ideas is often squelched by the drone of stress and desperation.

Ground-breaking work done over the past 25 years at HeartMath, an innovative research and training center near Silicon Valley, has shaped new understandings of the roots of creativity and intuition and how to increase their presence in our lives. Bruce Cryer's 15-year association with the Stanford Business School and extensive work with clients on four clients, has led to the development of key principles for developing creativity and intuition. His personal stories and examples will inspire you to reach beyond the mundane tasks of your job and help you regain the vision and inspiration that brought you into your work. This presentation will explore the scientific model of human flourishing and its relevance to the demands on people in organisations today, as well as case studies which will help listeners be inspired to experiment.

Why should you attend: Creativity is not just the domain of the artists, poets, and visionaries in society. Intuition is not reserved for psychics or those who follow their "sixth sense". Both these capacities can be developed and increased in anyone, with great benefit to our performance and wellbeing. In our generation, Steve Jobs is the ultimate example of someone who was considered not only extremely creative but also capable of intuiting the needs of customers who didn't even have his products yet.

Certainly his example is once in a generation, but what principles can be learned to develop more creativity and intuition in our own lives? What gets in the way of developing more creativity and intuition? Why don't we trust our intuition more, or give energy to creative impulses when they bubble up? Stress is clearly one of the prime disablers of creative and intuitive capacities. Stay stressed and you're almost guaranteed to live well below the threshold of your creative and intuitive potentials. In this program you will learn fundamental tools and principles to ensure you are rising above the "small stuff" and engaging the creative ideas and intuitive solutions to navigate through an uncertain rapidly changing future. You will learn how to avoid common traps most businesspeople (especially leaders) fall into that block these capacities. You will leave inspired and eager to learn more.
