The Science of our Times - Human Genome

The second presentation in "The Science of our Times" series: "The Human Genome" presented by one of South Africa's leading medical scientists, Prof Michael Pepper from the University of Pretoria.

This presentation will examine the enormous wealth of information contained in the human genome and its role in determining who we are and how we behave. This will be illustrated by the exquisitely coordinated networks of cells and molecules that make up our bodies. Included will also be a discussion on susceptibility to disease as well as the issue of discrimination against or stereotyping of people as a result of their genetic differences.
