Charity Art Auction

Thirteen local artists have donated works of art, with the theme, My special place, for an art auction in support of Horizon House.

The artists who contributed art works are Anne-Marie van der Westhuizen, Pera Scillings, Fawa Conradie, Annelise Potgieter, Ilsa Mundell, Brahm van Zyl, Juria le Roux, Isabella Kuijers, Anita van Zyl, Jeanne Hendricks, Corlie Kock, Evelyn Rust and Vernon Fourie.

Horizon House is a residential and protected work centre for adults who live with intellectual disability, situated in Stellenbosch.

Horizon House is a residential and protected work centre for adults who live with intellectual disability, situated in Stellenbosch. The centre is home to 98 adults and around 30 day visitors who join them for work every day. The activities provided, are aimed at providing a holistic and client-focused service.

At Horizon House a balanced programme and activities are at the core of what we offer the residents and day visitors. There are nine work areas where the residents and day workers work and receive training. Horizon House also accommodates people with intellectual disabilities from Kayamandi.

The centre is a Section 21 company (non-profit) that is responsible for generating its own funds. Contributions to Horizon House are fully tax-deductible. Horizon House's B-BBEE-status is currently "Level four contributor".

20% of the residents from Horizon House do not have families that can afford the fees or who do not have family members who can support them financially and otherwise. Our fundraising projects are aimed at raising funds for them.
