Judy-Jake has been a stand-up comic for four years. She is the first professional black female comic in South Africa. She was a finalist in a stand-up comedy competition that was broadcast on M-net. She has performed all over South Africa and has gotten great reviews from audiences and the media. She recently performed in Zambia for their Independence Day celebrations.
Judy has performed around the country on big and small stages like ("Blacks Only", "Heavyweight Comedy Jam", "Soweto Comedy Festival", "Women in Arts Festival", "Tshwane Comedy Festival" and various comedy clubs in the country) - Hosted the "Queenz of Comedy" in September 2011 - Head lined the "Queenz of Comedy" in July 2012 - Perform and MC at Corporate events - Did a University road show for First National Bank - Performed comedy skits (The Phat Joe Show, Last Say on Sunday) - Appeared on Television interviews ("Shift", "Sisterhood", "YOTV",) - Appeared in print media (Sunday World, Sowetan, Sunday Times, Cosmopolitan, One Small Seed, My Fair Lady and the O Magazine) - Heard on Radio stations ("YFM", "Metro FM", "5FM" and "Highveld Stereo") - Quoted in the book "The Art of the South African insult".
