Salt Restaurant & Bar launches dinner and wine diaryCape Town's stylish Salt Restaurant & Bar with its dream location on the Atlantic Seaboard has launched an enviable dinner and wine diary for the upcoming winter season. ![]() Under the helm of general manager Gidi Caetano and Head Chef Dave Winton, Salt is already known as a wine connoisseur's ‘honey pot' due to the venue's Diner's Club Platinum Award Wine List (2007 and 2008), which offers no less than seventy wines by the glass. Salt Restaurant's Wine and Gourmet Evenings will take place on the last Thursday of each month running from May through to October 2009. Priced at R350 per person, the four-course menu will be perfectly matched with four wines. Hosted by the estate's winemaker, the evenings will be relaxed affairs and are designed without the formality that generally goes with wine and menu pairings. A lucky diner also stands the chance to win a case of wine from the host wine estate.
