The Tenors at the Lyric Theatre

They sang to Britain's Queen Elizabeth at her Diamond Jubilee, rocked the Oprah Winfrey Show with Celine Dion and took over the stage at the 2011 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. Now, The Tenors are coming to South Africa.

This magnificently talented Canadian quartet, who started out playing in church basements in remote Saskatchewan just five years ago, has since shared the stage with international superstars such as Andrea Bocelli, Paul McCartney, Sting and many others, with their unique brand of singing and song-playing classical crossover.

Whether it's Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, Puccini's Nessun Dorma or Bob Dylan's Forever Young, the group keeps an audience enthralled.

They play instruments onstage and arrange and co-write some of their own material. Reviewers love their funny, relaxed, stage presence. "Spending an evening with them is like hanging around old friends -- who can really sing," said The Times columnist.

Catch them live at the Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City on 8 August. Bookings at Computicket.

Date: 08 August 2013
Time: 20:00 - 21:30
