All-Star Fashion Stylist Course

This will be a fashion stylist course like no other. Call it 'stylist boot camp'! You will have the opportunity to get a real, practical account of what it takes to become a fashion stylist.
Starting from the basics and theory of the industry to hands on, practical tasks that will be judged by local experts.
This course, will see you working with and learning from only the best in the business.
Along with becoming a certified fashion stylist through this course, you will also be introduced to valuable industry contacts and networks that will assist in gaining more experience and work within the industry.

Day 1:
- History of fashion.
- Trends history now and then.
- Why is image important?
- Defining the role of a stylist within the industry.
- Practical Task 1.

Day 2:
- The BIBLE of a stylist - body shapes, face shapes, colour palettes and more.
- The various roles of a stylist. Who to style? How to style? What to style?
- Personal image consulting to celebrity styling, the A - Z.
- Practical Task 2.

Day 3:
- This day will be spent viewing inspirational fashion documentaries/clips and an industry guest speaker will be sharing insight about the world of fashion.

Day 4:
- The art of working with colour
- Wardrobe assessments and organising - the old school and new age way of doing it!
- Tips to good fitting from underwear to suits
- Clever ways to recycle fashion
- Practical Task 3

Day 5:
- Setting up your brand and business: full guide from registering a business, stylist rates to creating your brand ID as a stylist.
- Fashion networks: everything from who to know in the industry, media publications and how to market yourself within the industry.
- Working with clients from personal shopping/styling to established companies and retailers. A guide on how to build and manage relationships with the fashion industry.
- Where and how to build experience on your CV as a stylist.
- Advice on freelancing and deciding on joining an agency.
- Practical Task 4

Day 6:
- Fashion industry professionals speaker session. Four guest speakers with a Q&A session.
- Practical Task 5 briefing session.

Day 7:
- Fashion styling made real: Putting all the theory, previous practical tasks and course findings to the test. From the brief to execution.
- You will be styling a test shoot with your very own model, working with a MU artist and photographer.

Day 8:
- Graduation Day: Feedback on all practical tasks, last few words of wisdom on the industry and where support will be provided to all candidates after the course.
- Graduation ceremony and party: All certificates will be handed over and a cocktail party will be held to mark completion of the course.
