Out of the 314 dams, in South Africa, that were identified in 2004 as needing rehabilitation, only 22 were confirmed as complete and 13 are still in progress, but there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel. Stakeholders will engage in a conversation at the Dam Management Africa Conference to curb the related water crisis as predicted by 2015. This objective platform will look at strategies into rehabilitation, maintenance, infrastructure and operations of dams.
Key strategies to be discussed:
Evaluating The Safety Of Your Dam In Line With The Dam Safety Act
Dealing With The Lack Of Resources Into Specialised Skills
Identifying The Remainder Of Dams That Needs Urgent Rehabilitation
