Ding ding! Orphanage Cocktail Emporium's resident barkeep, the inimitable Assaf Yechiel, wins round three of the World Class Mixologist Competition 2013. Most fittingly Orphanage is holding a celebration on the eve of 26 June 2013; join us at seven thirty for eight in The Dining Room to salute our great achievement!
A movement to bring back craft bartending, the clash is the largest and most credible mixology competition on Earth, and is testing the mettle of Cape Town's mixologists. This isn't simply slinging cocktails-it's utter bar theatre, and different venues around the city go head-to-head, to see whose bartender is best. The mixologists are judged on technique, presentation and creativity, and once again Assaf Yechiel swept the competition at the Most Prestigious and Competitive Mixology Series on Earth. The winning libation is a heady mix of 40 ml Don Julio, 20 ml sherry, 10 ml Campari, 2.5 ml agave syrup, and one to two drops of bitters.
Don Julio, a world renowed tequila will be sponsoring the rumbustious hurrah and all attendees will receive a complimentary cocktail of Assaf's winning recipe. We invite tipple enthusiasts to help us give him a jolly good slap on the back for his achievements. Join in the revelry of speakeasy; a glamorous, sophisticated time of cocktails, red lips, and two-tone shoes.
