2013 Road to Standard Bank Joy of Jazz kicks off at the Lyric Theatre

People with a finer taste for music are set to get their fix as the Road to Standard Bank Road to Joy of Jazz kicks off on Saturday, 6 April at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City with a show featuring soul man Frank McComb and hot band The Muffinz.
American crooner Frank McComb is no stranger to South African audiences. He was first seen in the country at the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz in 2011. His performance was so beautiful and special the fans wanted more and he fell in love with South Africa.
Leading jazzophile and media professional KG Moeketsi says McComb is the epitome of the ultimate soul and R&B singer of the 21st century.
"He is ahead of the pack and his music has in no way been diluted by rap and over-technological elements that so define this musical space. It remains good music for the highly enlightened ear that loves pure music for its sake.
"Frank McComb may sound like Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, but he very much is Frank McComb and all his many fans can attest to that. Once you love Frank McComb, you love him for life," attests Moeketsi.
South African musicians have been producing better and better quality soul music in recent years, one group that has music lovers talking and grooving is The Muffinz.
Critics say they are courageous and have gone outside the boundaries of their collective age groups to put out authentic music that can resonate with real music lovers of any age.

Tickets for the show are available from computicket at R250 - R350. Doors open at 18:00 and the show starts at 19:00.
