Freshly Ground

Favourite band to play at Kirstenbosch

The most beautiful garden in Africa hosts Freshlyground on Sunday February 3 as part of the Old Mutual Summer sunset concerts. One of the most popular bands in South Africa and having released their fifth studio album late in 2012, Take Me To The Dance, Freshlyground will be wowing the audience with some new sounds and old favourites. They have managed to navigate 10 years in the South African music industry, no mean feat for a band this size. Their ascension was rapid - they became a household name in South Africa in 2004 with the release of the smash-hit album Nomvula, and every album released since has generated at least one radio hit: Doo Be Doo, I'd Like, Pot Belly, Fire is Low and 2010's world-wide hit with Shakira, Waka Waka.

Freshlyground are pushing creative boundaries with their new CD and championing alternative ways of distribution and marketing. With a focus on making their music more accessible to more people around the country, and at a cheaper price, the album is marketed and distributed by Pick n Pay, The CD is bundled with a goodie bag, including free shirt. The album is also be available for digital download from the band's website freshlyground.com, as well as iTunes and Amazon.com.
