Photography is but one of the elements of effective visual communication, but it certainly has the most definitive impact on the bigger picture! Making an image is, however, much more than setting your DSLR on "P" and pressing the button with the idea that, should the photo not turn out the way you envisage it, you can wipe it at any time and press the button again.
Cameras have changed from analog to digital, replacing film with a sensor, but photography has not changed! The science and technique of photography is not something one knows - it is something one learns. Creative photography does not fall from the sky - one has to develop one's imagination, learn composition and proper manipulation of images to achieve the effect that inspires awe and admiration.
This course endeavors to teach you the technical skills, as well as create opportunities for application of these skills in a multitude of genres, including available light, nature, wildlife, photo journalism and studio photography. That is why we do field trips!
