What is an Assessor?
Registered assessors are licensed to practice as assessors for specified unit standards and/or qualifications, according to the conditions prescribed for those unit standards and qualifications by the relevant quality assurance body.
Educators and trainers undertake training to get the generic assessor unit standard, 'Conduct outcomes-based assessment (115753). This unit standard is endorsed by the ETDP SETA, which issues statements of achievement. The practitioners will then register with the relevant SETA to become an assessor in their area of expertise.
Assessors operate at the learning site, and have their assessment moderated by internal moderators and external verifiers.
