Practical responsive leadership

Developing leaders requires a comprehensive approach, encompassing:
leader development - development of individual human capital, group-leadership development - development of social or interpersonal skills etc.

The world is an uncertain place. To thrive, and often to simply survive, we must all grapple with, and overcome, a broad selection of risks. The most successful among us are those who respect risk, but also recognise the presence of risk as opportunity.

Leadership and risk taking, or alternatively, decision making (a leadership function) in the face of uncertainty (risk) is a task not easily achieved by many leaders. The purpose of this workshop is to assist delegates in becoming better leaders, risk takers and decision makers.

While any risk can lead to significant damage or loss, one risk in particular has larger-scale implications for long-term prosperity: leadership risk. To mitigate leadership risk and make a society healthier, happier and safer, good leaders with good decision making skills are needed at all levels and across all human endeavours.

If it is true that "everything rises and falls on leadership," it also follows that everything rises and falls on leadership development. Put another way, the most effective way to mitigate leadership Risk is simple: Prepare leaders better and they'll make better decisions.
