Vega School of Brand Leadership breakfast series

Vega Pretoria will present the first of a series of breakfast discussions with Dr Mari Laas, Head of Faculty: Social Services, Education and Pre-Degree at Midrand Graduate Institute. Dr Laas also runs a private practice focusing on among other things, career guidance counselling.

These talks are aimed specifically at Life Orientation Teachers and Career Guidance Councillors who are burdened with the huge responsibility of helping young minds find careers that suit their areas of talent, and more specifically, engage with them on development pathways that open doors in the chosen career fields.

The first presentation on Thursday, 13 September at 08:00 to 09:30 will be focusing on the question of subject choice at the end of Grade 9.

• How do you know what subjects your learners should take?

• What do you say to a parent who insists on a learner taking a particular subject, aptitude or not?

• What factors play a role in a learner's subject choice selection?
