SA's Strongman Championships at Gold Reef City

The best strength athletes from around the country will be competing to be crowned South Africa's official Strongman at Gold Reef City Theme Park on 1 and 2 September 2012. The audience will witness powerful athletes - each weighing at least 105kg - pit their muscles, determination and endurance against each other to win The South African Strongman Championship.

The competition which is by invitation only will see the top 10 athletes from day one qualifying for the second day of the competition, so expect only the best to compete for the crown. They'll be challenged to shoulder burdens that would crush most normal healthy men dead, lift entire motor vehicles, pickup and carry items weighing hundreds of kilograms - all for the glory of being recognised as the strongest man in the country.

This is a rare opportunity to see incredible feats by men who have invested every ounce of energy into conditioning their bodies for strength, power and stamina beyond imagination.

The show is included in the entrance fee and will run from 12:30 until 16:00 in the Hippodrome at Gold Reef City Theme Park, so don't miss out on the chance to see them live in action. Admission to the Theme Park includes all applicable rides, shows and entertainment, but excludes 'Jozi's Story of Gold' Heritage Tour.

The Theme Park is open from 09:30 until 17:00 from Wednesdays to Sundays, including public holidays.
