The first annual Cape Town music awards 2012

Cape Town Music Awards is an annual awards ceremony and live concert, established in 2011 with its first sold-out launch party at Tropical Beach Hotel, Sea Point.
The Cape Town Music Awards was established by Lloyd Ngavu to honor and celebrate Cape Town talent. The event is produced by Ikapa FM, HipHop TV and Ngavu Enterpise,Inc.
The Cape Town Music Awards celebrates Cape Town-born-and-raised and Cape Town-based/Cape Town-identified artists and their recordings. Nominees include major label and indie label artists as well as unsigned and rising artists.

Up-and-coming and established artists in more than 15 different musical categories will be honored each year in exciting award presentations featuring unforgettable performances by the best in the industry. Nominations and voting are done by a process that includes open nominations and finalist voting by music journalists and music industry representatives, along with a public vote. Critically acclaimed, the prestigious Cape Town Music Awards is called "Better than the SAMAs"
