Strategic brand leadership

The primary purpose of this short learning programme is to develop theoretical and applied competence within the field of innovation and leadership with specific application to brand building and marketing.

This implies the ability to acquire, analyse and interpret brand-business and marketing principles and theories and apply these principles and theories to the development of brand and marketing strategy.

Students will gain a deep and systematic understanding of current thinking, practice, theory and methodology within the area of innovation leadership.

This short course is aimed at middle to senior managers who have a relevant or appropriate degree level qualification and/or extensive management experience.

On successful completion of this module students would:
- Have been exposed to the concept of leadership and provided with the tools to lead effectively.
- Improved their ability to function and lead within a brand building and marketing environment existing within an innovative experience economy.
- Be enabled to develop and manage research initiatives which can essentially be turned into intelligence for the brand.
- Enhance their ability to think creatively, innovatively and strategically about brand building, marketing and communication.
- Be able to plan, strategise and present a complete strategy to executive management and important role players.

• Creativity and design thinking in the innovation economy
• Strategic thinking and scenario planning - applying analytical and creative thinking
• Insights driven research and brand and marketing intelligence
• Brand contact audits and cohesive contact planning
• Development of unconventional contact strategies
• Planning and implementing integrated brand, marketing and communications strategy
• Digital platform planning and experiential brand building strategies
• Assessing integrated brand and marketing efforts (financial formulas for measured results and triple bottom line planning)
• Reputation models and management in brand building
• Creative leadership and coaching models
