Strategy in dynamic markets

In this event, we will examine many of the traditional strategy concepts and frameworks, but reassess why they might hinder good decisions in a rapidly changing world, and how we can adapt them to be fruitful once again.

From the mixture of short lectures, examples, exercises and intense group discussions, participants will be able to:
-Refresh their overall knowledge of strategic concepts and developments from the last 40 years
-Challenge dangerous but wide-spread assumptions
-Focus on behaviours and actions that will deliver success in rapidly changing environments
-Think through their own situations, and appropriate applications of 'strategy' to those situations
-Identify key actions for their own organisations
-Key focus areas

Day one
-Understanding what is changing and in what respects
-Assessing the potential benefits and dangers of being 'strategic'
-Reassessing 'four dimensions of strategy': perspective; decisions; content; process
-Reassessing 'industries', 'businesses' and 'business models'

Day two
-Developing value propositions for dynamic markets
-Appropriate customer segmentation for rapid evolution
-Re-conceptualising the 'value chain'
-Changes in group management and private equity
