Viva La Symphony concerts at UWC

The Cape Philharmonic Orchestra will perform two concerts at the University of the Western Cape on 7 and 21 June.

The CPO in association with UWC is proud to create a platform where South African and international stars will perform together in front of a new audience. The South Africa award winning violinist Zanta Hofmeyr will be the soloist in Bruch's first Violin Concert on 7 June. The esteemed conductor Victor Yampolsky will conduct the Cape Philharmonic in other exciting works, the Roman Carnival by Berlioz and Dvorák's Symphony No. 9 (From the New World).
Cape Town's young conductor Brandon Phillips who recently made his debut with the Cape Philharmonic will be on the podium on 21 June. The award winning young violinist Avigail Bushakevitz is the soloist in Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor. Other works on this exciting programme is Le Préludes, S97 (Symphonic Poem No. 3) by Liszt and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4 in F minor.
