ICT for Rural Development 2012 Conference

Conference Connections SA has the pleasure to invite you to the inaugural ICT for Rural Development 2012 Conference to be held on 19 and 20 July at Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg.

This two-day conference will bring together key innovators, implementers, social entrepreneurs and thinkers from South Africa, Botswana, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana to explore case studies on how ICT innovations can be used to benefit rural populations in Africa.

• information systems for agricultural development;
• access to markets, financial services and employment;
• access to affordable, quality services such as education and healthcare;
• service delivery by governments, the private sector and NGOs, and to make these services more responsive to citizen needs;
• support improvements in accountability, transparency and participation by allowing citizens to publicise their concerns, share ideas, and hold governments to account;
• education as a tool for large, dispersed, low-income populations with limited budgets.
