David Chislett is a music industry professional with nearly 25 years of experience in South Africa. He has worked as a musician, manager, journalist, event manager, publicist and tour manager and gathered a wide range of experience of the industry and the media that surrounds it. For four years he ran his own public relations agency specialising in entertainment and music clients such as Goldfish, The Edgars Music Series, Levi's Music and the SAMA's.
During this two-hour session David will explore the unique aspects of the music industry from a marketing perspective, looking at the tools, techniques and attitudes required to successfully market music and events in South Africa utilising public relations.
It looks at the common misconceptions about marketing artists that sets out the key tools and methodologies that can be used to create a groundswell of public and media attention.
