Jeremy Maggs' brand attack debate

Globally and locally, many brands are worth hundreds of millions of rand. They're household names. They yield handsome returns. So if a brand is that important then the protection of the Trademark and enforcing it is equally so.

A trademark is much more than just a name, symbol or logo. In fact it's a distinctive sign via which an individual, company or organisation is identified or recognised in the marketplace.

In an ideal world, brands could push on safe in the knowledge they're protected from attack.
But unfortunately, that's not the case. Threats lie in wait everywhere and in the world of cyber-commerce, brands have never been more vulnerable.

Join Jeremy Maggs at another hard-hitting breakfast panel discussion, where he'll look at brand and trademark protection from all angles.

He'll interrogate the subject with a team of brand custodians from Nike, JSE, Snackworks, distinguished law firm Adams & Adams.
