Many African cities are struggling with similar problems and challenges and it has created a need to promote strategies that can enable the development and improvement of the social, environmental and economic growth of the African continent. The conference will address challenges that municipalities are likely to face during the next 40 years when the number of people living in African cities is said to triple and by 2025 and 60% of Africans will be city dwellers (UN Report).
The conference will be used as a platform to address the multi disciplinary aspects of city planning, infrastructure, grasping investment opportunities for African cities and integrating women into the economic development strategic plan. This will be achieved through the sharing of experience from representatives and researchers working in different African countries.
