Home and living inspirations

Cavendish Square's Home and Living Inspirations will allow shoppers the opportunity to be educated on and participate in a natural, more authentic home environment.

Find Home and Living Inspirations at Cavendish Square in March 2011. Cavendish Square realises that green living and balanced lifestyles have become an essential part of modern-day living. The centre has therefore decided to aid its customers in becoming educated on and participating in a natural, more authentic home environment.

Cavendish Square's Home and Living Inspirations will provide a platform for exhibitors to showcase their natural, home-grown or eco-sensitive products, giving shoppers an opportunity to learn more about how to assimilate natural living into their daily lives.

Cavendish Square sets the standard through its own green initiatives that have been implemented within the centre to save on energy, conserve resources and reduce waste. Some of these practices include the use of low energy globes and eco friendly cleaning products, the replacement of paper towel units with air dryers and regular urinals with waterless urinals. Cavendish Square also deploys a fully equipped team dedicated to recycling and waste reduction and encourages its tenants to play their part in the recycling initiative.

Some retailers that will be participating include Wellness Warehouse, whose product offering includes eco household products, natural beauty products, natural supplements and remedies, and organic products. Wild Olive will also showcase its locally manufactured, 100% natural beauty products, along with Le Creuset who, through the Knysna Feeding Schemes Project, is feeding 200 local preschoolers with balanced, healthy meals. Isabelina Decor Shed will also be showcasing some of its inspirational home decor concepts and designs.

More than 20 exhibitors will showcase the latest and greatest innovations in green, local and natural living. These include the Cape Craft and Design Institute, Proudly South African and Eskom, along with the likes of Builders Express, Recyclabilia and Chair Crazy.

DIY Diva, Janice Anderssen, will also host two workshops, sponsored by Builders Express Kenilworth, on Saturday 5 March in the Edgars court at Cavendish Square, between 11:00 and 13:00. Workshop attendees will make a bamboo wall clock, which they'll be able to take home with them. Attendance at this workshop is by invitation only. Cavendish Square is giving away 10 tickets to attend the workshops on their Facebook fan page, as well as more than R15000 in prizes through the Cavendish Square website.
