VSS follows a multi-disciplinary approach to problem-solving, development of creativity and applied knowledge drawing from appropriate art disciplines during this two year course.
The theoretical foundations of each subject are taught in depth as a basis from where practical application is to follow. Accordingly, theory and practice are considered to be interdependent aspects in the development of a student for the workplace.
Adventure trips form part of the course. Field trips are fun, spell adventure and certainly form the most enjoyable part of learning. They also provide limitless opportunities for team building and personal development: leadership; social behaviour; team play; stress management; self confidence and imagination.
Subjects include: Photography (History, science, technique and application); Fine Arts (History, science, technique and application); Graphic Design; Communication and PR and Business Principles.
All successful students qualify for the Certificate: Photography and Visual Arts after the first year where after students can enroll for the second year to qualify for a Diploma: Photography and Visual Arts.
