Deadline for IABC International 2008 Gold Quill Awards looms

You can still make the 5 February 2008 early bird deadline for this year's international Gold Quill Awards. These awards recognise excellence in the corporate communication industry each year, with entrants competing against the best of the best internationally and prize winners announced at the IABC International conference taking place in June this year.

The region relaunched the local Gold Quill Awards in 2007, announcing the winners at the annual conference held in October 2007. The local awards, as well as rewarding local excellence, act as the pre-judging round for the international awards – which each region has to go through. As part of the launch, the winners have been automatically entered into the international 2008 Gold Quill Awards.

This year, the 2008 Africa Gold Quills will act as a pre-judging round for the 2009 international awards. A call for entries will go out in July, with entrants having until mid-September to submit their entries. This means that if you are unable to make the deadlines for the 2008 international awards, you will still have plenty of time to get your entries in for the local 2008 awards and pre-judging round for the 2009 international awards.

How to enter

Participants need to submit their entries to their regional coordinators. This is applicable to all regions of IABC International.
IABC Africa Region participants need to submit their entries to the region's coordinator, Roslyn Jones, by 5 February to qualify for the early bird registration fee. The final deadline is 12 February.
All regions are subjected to the same deadlines and are not negotiable. Late entries will be disqualified and no extensions will be provided.
All regions' entries go through an initial judging process by local judges before they are submitted to IABC International head quarters in San Francisco for judging.
Log on to www.iabc.com for entry forms and instructions, as well as to make the entry fee payment. No payments are accepted by the regions.
