New flight to where the leopard leapsEffective 11 February 2008, Airlink will be introducing an additional Monday to Thursday early morning return flight departure between Johannesburg (JNB) and Phalaborwa (PHW). ![]() The leopard sculpture sets the airport apart from others. Airlink currently operates the JNB PHW flight schedule with two daily return flights from Monday to Friday and Sunday and one return flight on a Saturday, but has increased frequency in response to traveller demand. The new improved schedule will cater for a day of business with same-day returns to allow for a longer working day for business people who commute between JNB and PHW, whilst the mid-morning flights cater for leisure and additional business connections. The Kruger Gateway Airport is situated about 2km from the Phalaborwa Gate that provides easy access to the northern Kruger National Park camps and many of the famous private game lodges, making this an ideal route for local and international travellers who visit the famous Kruger National Park.
