Governance beyond boards

Presented in association with IBM South Africa, this one-day intervention looks at governance, risk and compliance with a ‘new set of eyes'.

The facilitator, Terry Booysen (CEO of CGF Research Institute), uses the analogy of fighter-pilot tactics in relation to business leadership and sound governance practices.

Organisations of all sizes in South Africa need to develop and apply sound GRC principles and institute high ethical values for the benefit of investors, their stakeholders and the communities in which they operate.

Objectives:
1. Develop a common understanding of corporate governance, risk and compliance and the manner in which it affects all directors, management and employee levels in public, private and government spheres

2. Simplify complex governance topics into a common language which is understood from directors to management and across all vertical business units

3. Dispel disparate beliefs that corporate governance is only contained in board rooms and managed by the directors - unify the process

4. Show the connection of good governance and organisational performance

5. Discuss the link of governance and enterprise risk
