For more experienced practitioners who want to develop their strategic public relations and communication management skills.

What will I learn? This programme is taught and assessed at a strategic level. It focuses on strategic public relations and its role as an integral part of successful business practice. You will develop your public relations and integrated communication management skills at a strategic level through examining case studies and practical examples.
12 days full time in two blocs of six days each.

•Strategic management: Stakeholder relationship management. Levels of influence in the organisation.
•Reputation management: Corporate governance
• (Organisational culture. Change management.
•Media relationship management: Media conferences. Radio and television interviews. Positioning the organisation in the media.
•Internet technology trends and its impact on PR.
•Managing public relations: Management principles. Structuring of the department. Budgeting. Negotiation. Conflict handling. Labour Relations. Human Resources. Lobbying and Advocacy. Sponsorships and CSI. Research consultants. Crisis communication.
Assessments: Workplace based assignments, practical board presentations, media conferences and on-camera television interviews. Open book exams based on industry case studies.
