Soaring from a giant washing machine, a stunning art installation of 1500 seagulls, 300 dragonflies, 50 fish and 750 waterlilies - all made from empty Skip bottles - came to life as the magical centrepiece to the launch of new, improved Skip concentrate at the V&A Waterfront on Thursday, 25th August.
The all-white theme was carried through by couturiers, Malcolm Kluk and David Tlale, who dressed the beautiful hostesses in their signature style complemented by delicate headpieces - again created from Skip bottles - by design house, Mila.
But it was jazz chanteuse, Auriol Hays, who had the limelight in a lavish shawl of Mila's lotus flowers as she added her smooth and mellow lounge sounds to the stylish ambience.
The Skip installation at the V&A will be disassembled on Monday, 5th of September.
The guests left with their very own Skip laundry bags, a clever clothes-peg USB stick and two bottles of the brand new, radically re-thought Skip concentrate liquid.
