Nintendo makes core decision

Nintendo of Europe has announced that it has appointed Core Gaming Systems (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary company of the Core Group, as its exclusive official distributor for southern Africa.

Effective immediately, Core Group will be responsible for the distribution of all Nintendo products in this market, including the company's DS Lite handheld console and the innovative new home console, Wii. The distributor's remit will also extend to neighbouring countries in sub-Saharan Africa, highlighting Nintendo's continued focus to expand its presence in this region.
Laurent Fischer, Nintendo's MD of European Marketing and PR, commented, “Southern Africa is a rapid growth market and with increasing competition it is vital for our products to maintain a high level of visibility there.”
Core Group will focus on delivering services to the southern African customer, including the DS Lite and Wii products, official warranty for all hardware and software items sold by the group, localisation and marketing support for trade.
