UberEATS launches in Cape Town
UberEats will be celebrating their official launch this evening in a villa in Camps Bay, where guests will be wined and dined by HQ, one of UberEATS restaurant partners. Capetonians will be able to sample HQ’s delicious food items on the app which includes the likes of Sirloin Cubes with Café de paris butter, Wild Mushroom Risotto balls, Salmon Pancakes Roulade and Open Lamb Sliders with brie and avo.

‘Eaters’ in Cape Town City Bowl, Camps Bay, the Atlantic Seaboard, Woodstock and Observatory can now look forward to getting their favourite meals at the tap of a button, as Uber has partnered with a selection of the most popular restaurants and eateries in these areas. UberEATS aims to expand the delivery area across Cape Town and will add more restaurants in the coming weeks.
Some of Uber’s restaurant partners at launch include: HQ, Nü, Societi Bistro, My Sugar, The Creamery, Gibson’s Gourmet Burgers & Ribs, Engruna Eatery, IYO and many more.

- UberEATS aims to deliver - and quickly too. Dave Kitley, UberEATS South Africa, notes that ‘eaters’ shouldn’t have to wait longer than 45 minutes from order to delivery.
- Restaurants get a new market and driver-partners get to expand their businesses.
- Restaurants can, for the first time, receive feedback from customers.
“Uber thrives on feedback”, says Kitley. “We want the UberEATS courier service to be of five star quality. That’s why users of the UberEATS app will be able to rate the service of both the restaurant and their food courier by using a ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ rating system after the food has arrived.”
