RCL Foods to implement top level management restructuringRCL Foods (RCL) said on Friday, 31 October 2014, it was in the process of restructuring its business at top management level to build a continental food business of scale. ![]() © Kheng Ho Toh – 123RF.com The county's largest chicken producer said the restructure would group the business into two clusters‚ namely a "consumer" and "sugar and milling" division. Rainbow Foods and Foodcorp's grocery‚ beverages‚ pies and speciality divisions would fall in the consumer cluster. The consumer cluster would be made up of TSB Sugar Holdings‚ Rainbow's feed division Epol and Foodcorp's milling and baking units. RCL said its distribution unit‚ Vector‚ would continue to operate as a standalone business. "The restructure will be effective from 1 January 2015 and the board is confident that it will facilitate the delivery of the group's strategy to build an African food business of scale‚" it said. Scott Pitman‚ currently managing director (MD) of Rainbow‚ has been appointed MD of the consumer division and John du Plessis‚ currently MD of TSB‚ has been appointed MD of the Sugar and Milling division. Cliff Sampson‚ currently MD of Foodcorp‚ has elected not to accept a position within the restructured RCL Foods Group and‚ as such‚ will leave the business at the end of December 2014.
