ICASA hearings into secondary market broadcasters

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) is inviting interested members of the public, the media and stakeholders to public hearings for the licensing of new commercial sound broadcasting licensees in the secondary markets for Limpopo, North West and Mpumalanga provinces.

Following an invitation to apply (ITA), published in Government Gazette No. 27474, Notice 575 of 8 April 2005, on 30 September 2005, ICASA received 11 applications:

Limpopo Province

1. Radio Limpopo Consortium
2. Twelve O' Twelve Consortium
3. Radio Mapungubwe Consortium
4. Capricorn FM (Pty) Ltd
5. Limpopo FM (Pty) Ltd

Mpumalanga Province

1. M-Power Radio (Pty) Ltd
2. Mpumalanga Radio Consortium
3. Evening Star (Pty) Ltd

North-West Province

1. Platinum FM (Pty) Ltd
2. North-West Consortium
3. Yired (Pty) Ltd
