Astral Foods in Quantum Foods deal

Astral Foods (ARL) has entered into a long-term supply agreement with Quantum Foods whereby Quantum will supply Astral with about 550,000 broilers a week.

Astral said on Thursday, 3 April 2014, that tough market conditions within the poultry industry would see Quantum maintaining its breeding operations as well as the rearing of broilers‚ with Astral Food purchasing the broilers from Quantum for further processing‚ distributing and marketing.

The agreement is subject to suspensive conditions.
