Seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales increased by 1.4% in the fourth quarter of 2013 compared with the previous quarter. Measured in nominal terms (current prices)‚ wholesale trade sales increased by 13.1% in December 2013 compared with December 2012. The major contributors to this increase were dealers in solid‚ liquid and gaseous fuels and related products (20.8% and contributing 4.6 percentage points); food‚ beverages and tobacco (13.7% and contributing 2.7 percentage points); and machinery‚ equipment and supplies (19.9% and contributing 2.4 percentage points). Wholesale trade sales increased by 12.3% in the fourth quarter of 2013 compared with the fourth quarter of 2012. The major contributors to this increase were dealers in solid‚ liquid and gaseous fuels and related products (13.6% and contributing 3.0 percentage points); machinery‚ equipment and supplies (17.8% and contributing 2.3 percentage points); and food‚ beverages and tobacco (9.0% and contributing 1.5 percentage points). |
