5FM revamps websiteAlong with the new on-air line-up, national radio station 5FM has launched its new-look website, featuring blogging, greater user interaction with DJs, content filters and personal customising tools. The latest in Flash and AJAX technology enable users to customise the website to suit their tastes and preferences. 5FM BlogJockeys is the first free blogging service provided by a South African radio station, according to 5FM. "BlogJockeys is a fantastic opportunity for the 5FM community to post their original content in the form of text, images and podcasts and have it seen by our tens of thousands of users. We'll be looking out for special original content to highlight on-air and will also speak live to BlogJockeys who put in the effort" says Reuben Goldberg, 5FM webmaster. Apart from the blogs, the new site also features content tailor-made to blur the lines between on-air and online. Additional features include instant messaging the DJ, online polls, on-air topics, SMS feed integration (including a live scroll of text messages received) and news and content (RSS) feeds.
