'Killer' reporters out to clobber Krejcir?

We cannot vouch for the veracity of this image, but could this be a sensational picture - taken with split-second timing - of a dastardly “killer” journalist taking a shot… literally, using a machine gun concealed inside a camera? • Times Live: Killer 'reporters' out to get Krejcir, say prosecutors... All right, all right... Yes, I also checked my calendar and no, I also noticed it's not the first of April - but to be absolutely certain, also phoned around and, nope... We're in November.

  Now, I'm sure the police and prosecutors, being intelligent and knowledgeable people, have a pretty good idea of the average camera any reporter - killer or not - lugs into court. I'm also pretty sure the police and prosecutors - particularly the former as they work around firearms - are reasonably familiar with machine guns and other things that go Bang!

  Going one better... IOL quotes pens as being potential vehicles in which to secrete machine guns.

  How big are the pens that our police and prosecutors use? They must need both hands to sign off reports... either that or there are some machine gun out there that is compact of note.

  If that's the case, it must be hell loading it... imagine the size of the bullets.

• IOL: Carrim confirms receiving SABC report... Back to our old staple provider of newswatches... the SABC. IOL reports that Communications Minister Yunus Carrim said on Monday he had seen the public protector's provisional report into alleged maladministration at the SABC and quotes him as saying, "Yes, I did receive the report, obviously..," adding that, as he understands it, "there's nothing for a minister to do at this stage because each of the parties referred to has to be given seven days (to respond)."

  The provisional report is said to highlight abuse of power and maladministration by senior executives and former SABC board members.

• iAfrica: Mthethwa defends Nkandla stance... Finally, back to what is also becoming somewhat of a newswatch subject... Nkandla. iAfrica reports that Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa has defended the security cluster's stance on publishing images of the presidential compound.
  He is also reported to have - what else - blamed the media for "blowing the issue out of proportion".
