SASKO Siyasizana Daycare Project
In September 2015, SASKO launched its SASKO Siyasizana Daycare Project to assist daycares in Tembisa in receiving much-needed items for their facilities. In five months, 350 participating daycares collected 300,000 SASKO bread bags. To acknowledge their hard work and perseverance, SASKO awarded 1,385 prizes at the first Prize Giving on 10 March 2016.
The request to daycares in the community was to collect used SASKO Bread bags that would otherwise be thrown away, and redeem them for items such as mattresses, backpacks, basins, carpets, chairs and even fridges or stoves for your daycare.
Siyasizana mobilised Tembisa residents to come together in support of their local daycares by assisting with the collection of bags.
Winners included Jane Mokgonyana of Tender Care Daycare, Matema Mashilo of Bophelong Daycare and Nomthandazo Mkhondwana of Nanini Daycare.
