Johannesburg-based jewelry designer Henriette Botha launched her A/W15 collection yesterday, 10 March, entitled SOUTH, a series of designs that have been inspired by the prints and patterns of Brazil and the boldness of Mexico balanced by the colours of Sicily.
With SOUTH Botha created a balance between typically deep wintry hues such as Marsala and the warm shades of exotic wildflowers. Tangerines, pinks, purples, reds and yellows are emboldened with metallic touches. Her signature use of traditional crafts such as beading and weaving make up the basis of this range and have been augmented with metal casts made from beads, brass plate and chains, Czech glass beads and bamboo and cotton thread.
