About the course Effective performance in a court or before a tribunal is a result of experience and diligent preparation. From the smallest detail to deciding on the theory of the matter can have a huge impact on the outcome. Who will benefit from this course? Course outline Course presenters Tembelani Mayosi has been a member of the Cape Bar since 2014. He studied BA LLB at UCT, graduating in 2009. Thereafter he joined the litigation department at CK Friedlander Shandling Volks Inc as a candidate attorney. He later joined Smith Tabata Buchanan Boyes as an associate in their litigation department. Most of his work revolved around commercial litigation in the High Court and Magistrates Court, with some experience in arbitration proceedings. In 2014, he commenced with pupillage at the Cape Bar. Phillip Myburg joined the Bar twenty years ago and has practiced full-time for approximately fifteen years. He has also been involved in the wine business that he owns with his brother, and the greater Joostenberg group of businesses. His practice at the Bar combines a general commercial litigation focus, specialising in tax law. He has appeared in Magistrates' and High Courts around the country, and in the Appeal Court. Since being appointed as chairman of the Special Tax Board, he has presided over approximately fifty matters in that forum. In 2007 he was appointed to the panel of the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa (AFSA).
