The focus for Barcode's in-house fabrication division is a balance between functionality and aesthetic. This approach has ensured that the company's signature style has been maintained in elegant designs, while bars and display systems have become increasingly lighter, durable and easy to assemble. The latest example of this trend is a fully portable box-lit promotional stand that weighs only 9kg and fits neatly into a dedicated carry case. The potential of these hydrology stands was recognised by Glacéau who recently purchased a number of units for promotion of their Vitamin Water range.
Barcode continues to grow in its development brand-specific bar infrastructure, most notably the work done for SAB on the Peroni brand. Key to the creation of such equipment is a thorough understanding of the brand's national and international identities, and the ability to design around these qualities. Peroni's brand characteristics of sophistication and understatement, for example, are instantly evoked by the visual effect of Barcode's designs.
More classically-styled bars that pair minimalism and practicality are to be released soon, forming another new wave of progressive fabrication to take the industry forward.
