Barcode knows why you loved July

While many felt the need to spend winter in hibernation, mobile bar specialists, Barcode, kept warm this July with the organisation and management of numerous major events across the country.
Barcode knows why you loved July

Vodacom Durban July
Defined by style, elegance and seamless organisation, the VODACOM DURBAN JULY this year confirmed its reputation as the most fashionable event in Durban's social calendar. Throughout the city Barcode ensured that local, national and international visitors were treated to the quality of service and attention to detail that are the hallmarks of South Africa's finest entertainment and hospitality. This included an unprecedented layout of infrastructure and staff across numerous locations. Throughout the weekend Barcode's all-day cocktail service at Durban International Airport provided visitors with Durban Tourism's warmest welcome, while Barcode cocktails were also the flavour of choice at the Pernod Ricard pre-July party at Suncoast Towers on Friday night. But it was Race Day that really saw Barcode prove their pedigree. Guests of Warwick Hospitality enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime location on the top of the Main Grandstand from where - Barcode cocktail in hand - they could view the races and Barcode's other clients' arenas: Nedbank, IDC, Mercedes Benz, Nampak, Royal Sechaba and Spy. Barcode's signature Koi fish tank displays accompanied a series of new generation Infinity Bars in various interpretations of the 2008 July theme: ‘It's a Shore Thing'. For the second year running the event closed at 9pm, giving punters time to saunter across town to the De La Sol street party and the AXE Mother of All Parties at the Durban ICC. Both afterparties enjoyed Barcode bars and service through the night.

Southern Sun International GM Conference
Barcode was back at Durban International Airport on the 14th of July to welcome delegates to the SOUTHERN SUN INTERNATIONAL GM CONFERENCE with an original South African cocktail. The three-day conference is an annual affair that hosts more than 100 Southern Sun International GMs from the Middle East and Africa. Barcode brought impact to the conference's opening function at the Sun Coast Towers with a dramatic circular bar and aquatic central bar display. The same effect was evident at the GM awards evening where Barcode's bar and professional service tended to guests gathered to bid farewell to Southern sun group MD Helder Pereira and welcome to new MD Graham Wood.

Durban Whiskey Festival

From the 23rd to 25th July Barcode formed the centrepiece of the TOPS AT SPAR WHISKEY FESTIVAL, held at Sun Coast Casino in Durban, with a 20 metre circular bar. Working with the top brands in the spirits industry, trainers from the newly-established Barcode Bar Academy demonstrated the art of making the perfect whiskey cocktail. Launched recently in Durban, the Academy focuses on the training and development of staff in the liquor and beverage industries in order to empower them with specific skills that provide them and - where relevant - their employers with measurable return on investment.

Decorex

On the August 1st, Barcode entertained, served and helped celebrate at the DECOREX 15TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY. As part of a promotional association with the show, Barcode had also taken up a large centre stand at Jo'burg's DECOREX show at the end of July. The event saw the product launch of Barcode's patented collapsible infinity bars, and gave the ideal platform for Barcode Bar Academy trainers Ryan Duvenage, Roy Martin and Gareth Wainwright to showcase their flair and cocktail making skills.
