The Good Food and Wine (Cocktails) Show

Barcode's involvement at the event showcased a broad range of their specialist services – from product-tailored mixology to acrobatic flairing.

Stormhoek Wines, possibly the most dynamic and revolutionary winery in the South African wine industry, asked Barcode to assist in promoting their innovative approach to wine and the way it is appreciated. Using their contrasting jet black and pure white bar systems, Barcode set up a wine and sushi stand that exemplified the Stormhoek philosophy, “Freshness matters!” In the spirit of novel thinking, Barcode also developed a range of truly original cocktails that highlighted the untapped mixability of wine, specifically Stormhoek's new Couture Rosé – the only wine in the world especially designed to be drunk with ice.

In the Kahlua Coffee Theatre, Barcode was commissioned by Kahlua Liqueur to create an experience that complemented the National Barista Championships taking place on the adjacent stage. Barcode enthusiastically satisfied the challenge with a striking ebony semi-circular bar, a range of unique Kahlua cocktails and onstage cocktail-making demonstrations.

But cocktail making was not the only skill Barcode's team was invited on stage for. In the main theatre of the event, Barcode's flairtenders were asked to warm up the crowd for BBC celebrity chefs, the Hairy Bikers. Acrobatics with bottles, glassware and ice set the room alight, providing the men on Harleys with the perfect entrance.

The Good Food and Wine Show proved to be an electric event with a vast range of activities and products on offer. Barcode enjoyed the opportunity to embrace this theme, and provide creative expressions of their broad range of professional services.
