A truly large-scale event, the successful operation of the Durban July requires substantial planning and experience of major productions. Over 145 metres of Barcode portable bar were located throughout the private and VIP tents dotted around Greyville racecourse β each uniquely designed, colour-coded and branded. Guests visiting these bars were served by one of 110 thoroughly-trained BARCODE staff, each equally adept at pouring the range of signature cocktails that Barcode's mixologists had devised especially for the occasion.
Following on from the resounding success of the 2006 event, Barcode once again joined forces with REEL Productions to stage a truly unforgettable VIP experience. Separate corporate and VIP areas inside the elegant marquee were serviced by exclusive Barcode bars, while the vivid jet black bar outside provided an irresistible invitation to passers by to join the party. As the sounds of Roger Goode and Cape Town's Iridium Project filled the night air, Barcode's flairtenders provided a riveting visual display of fire, skill and dexterity β proving, once again, the high-impact value that flairtending and fire flair have at an event.
Additional clients like Miller Genuine Draft, Schweppes, Royal Sechaba, Deneys Reitz, Nampak and Warwick Hospitality, meant Barcode took responsibility for keeping over 7000 Durban July enthusiasts well-supplied with the drink of their choice. It was a mammoth task, but with previous experience of large-scale productions, like the A1 Grand Prix and Durban July 2006, the Barcode team was once-again able to produce a well-planned, efficiently-run event.
This ability to deliver a professional service with unwavering enthusiasm and commitment is what has become known as βThe Barcode Difference.β
