Based in Osizweni Township in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, the crèche is the latest recipient of Bloom Marketing's Mandela month campaign which began in July and involved the weekly selection of different themes to celebrate and honour Mandela's legacy.
A typical township crèche, Intuthuko has extremely limited resources and so the donations from Bloom Marketing provide the children with equipment for both entertainment and developmental growth which they would not have had access to. This involves outdoor signage, jungle gym, painted murals, swings, slides, footballs, indoor toys, dolls and puzzles, as well as mattresses and blankets for sleeping.
The crèche hosted Bloom Marketing staff members and there was great excitement at the handover. Bloom Marketing is also donating resources to a primary school in Osizweni and both donations amount to a monetary figure in the region of R100,000.
As their Mandela month campaign concludes, the founder and MD of Bloom Marketing, Nox Luthuli begins another campaign which she has called the 40/40 campaign. Nox turned 40 this Saturday and to celebrate her birthday, during women's month, she will be delivering 40 motivational talks at 40 schools around KwaZulu-Natal. Her talks will be particularly aimed at motivating and inspiring girl scholars.
