Business Development Lead – Motor Dealer Partnerships

Location: Gauteng-based with regional and national travel
Employment type: Full-time | Field-based with periodic head office visits

About the role

As a business development lead, you’ll be responsible for growing and strengthening relationships with motor dealerships across your territory.

This is not a hard sales role. Instead, you’ll act as the bridge between dotsure.co.za and dealership partners, building trust, creating opportunities, and helping partners get the most value from working with us.

You’ll spend your time engaging with dealer principals, F and I managers, sales managers, and key stakeholders, building long-term relationships that support mutual growth.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in business development, key account management, relationship management, or partner engagement who enjoys working independently, travelling regularly, and building strong commercial relationships face-to-face. Motor industry experience is not essential.

What you’ll be doing


Relationship and partner growth
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealership groups and key stakeholders
  • Become a trusted point of contact between dotsure.co.za and dealership partners
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships and grow engagement
  • Conduct regular face-to-face meetings and dealership visits
  • Support onboarding, partner engagement, and ongoing relationship management
  • Represent dotsure.co.za at industry and dealership-related events
Territory and account management
  • Manage and grow your dealership network within your assigned territory
  • Maintain consistent communication and visibility with partners
  • Monitor opportunities, partner activity, and growth areas
  • Travel regularly within your designated region and nationally when required
Market and business engagement
  • Maintain accurate CRM and activity records
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity
  • Provide regular updates on partner engagement and territory performance
About you

You’re someone who naturally connects with people and enjoys building long-term relationships. You’re professional, confident, and comfortable engaging with stakeholders at different levels of business.

You’ll likely thrive in this role if you have:
  • 2+ years’ experience in business development, key account management, relationship management
  • Partner-facing B2B roles
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to build trust and credibility quickly
  • A self-managed, proactive working style
  • Strong organisational and territory management skills
  • A commercial mindset with a focus on growth and partnerships
  • A valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Experience within insurance, financial services, automotive, retail, or dealership environments would be advantageous, but is not essential.
