Walters, who has been at the helm for just less than two years, will be replaced by Arnold Goldstone who has held the position from 2000 until 2015.

Invicta is an investment holding and management company operating through three segments, engineering solutions, capital equipment, and building supplies.

"On behalf of the board I would like to thank Charles for his significant contribution to the group over the past 10 years, the past 18 months as CEO," said executive deputy chairman Goldstone.

Walters would remain with the company in a consulting capacity until November 30.

The company in November reported a 32% rise in first-half headline earnings per share to R2.54.

The stock rallied nearly 3% to R71.92 in mid-afternoon trade on the JSE, valuing the company at R7.6bn.
