Image: Free Digital Photos The highest annual growth rates were recorded for fuel sales (13.6%)‚ workshop income (6.8%) and new vehicle sales (6.0%). Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales decreased by 1.4% in September compared with August and followed month-on-month changes of -2.0% in August and 5.4% in July. Stats SA said the seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 2.1% in the third quarter of this year compared with the previous quarter and were up by 8.8% compared with the third quarter of last year. The major contributors to this increase were fuel sales (15.1% and contributing 3.9 percentage points) and new vehicle sales (10.9% and contributing 3.1 percentage points). |
